Star Wine List of the Year Spain 2025
Star Wine List is coming to Spain for the first time, to celebrate the best wine lists and the people behind them.
Monday 3 February
The awards ceremony will be held in Barcelona on 3 February 2025, during Barcelona Wine Week. The event will mark the seventh stop on the Star Wine List international tour 2024/2025.
We welcome entries from all restaurants and wine bars across Spain – registration is free of charge.
Winners will be decided by an expert jury of international sommeliers. Read stories from previous winners, here.

Expert jury panel
Our international jury for Star Wine List of the Year Spain includes three top names from the wine world:
• Paz Levinson, Best Sommelier of the Americas 2015 (ASI)
• Ferran Centelles, renowned sommelier, formerly of El Bulli
• Kathrine Larsen-Robert, Master Sommelier
• Raimonds Tomsons, Best Sommelier of the World 2023 (ASI)
Categories and criteria
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Grand Prix
The best list of the overall competition.
• Best Long List, presented by Bodega Numanthia
For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List
200-600 references.
• Best Short List
Fewer than 200 references.
• Best By the Glass List
• Best Sparkling Wine List
• Best Newcomer List
• Sustainable Wine List, presented by Familia Torres
For the Sustainable Wine List category, we evaluate not just the wine list but also the stated actions of the venue, as described through a questionnaire within the application.
• Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
