Star Wine List of the Year Switzerland 2025
Star Wine List will be celebrating Switzerland's top wine lists for the third time, with our first in-person event in the country this May.
Monday 19 May
On 19 May, we will host Star Wine List of the Year Switzerland 2025 in Zurich.
After holding an online event celebrating Swiss wine lists 2021 and then recognising the teams' achievements alongside Austria and Germany in our joint competition last year, we are pleased to be bringing a dedicated event to the country – and in person, too!
Gold Stars will be awarded in nine categories – take a look at all the finalists, here.
All of these winners will go on to compete in our International Final, in June.

Star Wine List of the Year Switzerland 2025
Judges
The jury panel for Star Wine List of the Year Switzerland 2025 includes three top sommeliers:
• Bertrand Lutaud – Master Sommelier and Star Wine List's Geneva Ambassador
• Nina Jensen – Second-Best Sommelier of the World, 2019 and 2023 (ASI)
• Reeze Choi – Third-Best Sommelier of the World 2023 (ASI)
Categories and criteria
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
THE CATEGORIES
INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Grand Prix
The best list of the overall competition.
• Best Long List, presented by Château d'Esclans
For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List
200-600 references.
• Best Short List
Fewer than 200 references.
• Best By the Glass List
• Best Sparkling Wine List, presented by Nyetimber
• Sustainable Wine List, presented by Chateau Galoupet
Recognises a wine list that has put extra emphasis on the wine program’s overall impact, including vine growing, winemaking, packaging and transport. Assessed via a questionnaire during the application process.
• Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine
• Best California Wine List, presented by Pahlmeyer
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
